EventIDE installation requires installing the extended version of  DirectX 9.0. We plan to remove this dependency by switching to another DirectX engine, that has also a support for newer DirectX 11. Still, DirectX 9 will remain a main graphics engine because DirectX 11 is not available on Windows XP.

When  I use a large stimulus set with the Render element, it's quite cumbersome to manage the item list in UI, especially if custom sorting is required. Can you think about introducing a separate panel or window with better controls for item selection and sorting?

Currently, a logic of the event flow in EventIDE is based on conditions attached to events. This is a historical feature of the original program's architecture. Event conditions allows easy management on layers which contains dense links structures with a small number of events. However, the practice proves a real disadvantage of this approach- the conditions get overcomplicated when multiple links  converge to a single event.

Accordingly, the conditions snippets (including the default time conditions) are planned to be moved to the links them self. It's a final step in core design, which is planned to be completed in September 2012.

Python becomes more and more popular as a general purpose programming language. Python emphasizes code readability, which makes it easier for beginners. Curiously enough, the Python has been created by Guido van Rossum, who graduated in the same university (university of Amsterdam) where EventIDE has been developed.   We plan to add a support for coding with Python in EventIDE snippets. Please, vote for this feature to promote it in our development roadmap.
